Microsoft Outlook Outage Disrupts Business Communications, No Direct Crypto Impact
Microsoft Corp. faced significant service disruptions Thursday as its Outlook email platform suffered widespread outages during peak business hours. Over 15,890 users reported issues with email transmission, receiving "451 4.3.2 temporary server issue" error messages when attempting to send or receive messages. The outage, which began at 2:37 p.m. ET, also affected OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview services.
The technical failure originated in North American service infrastructure that failed to handle traffic properly, creating cascading problems across multiple Microsoft 365 services. While the incident caused operational headaches for schools, government offices, and corporations, the outage appears unrelated to cryptocurrency markets or blockchain infrastructure. Service was fully restored by Friday morning, with incident reports dropping to 113 by 1:05 a.m. ET.
